Are You Productive, or Just Busy?

Are You Productive, or Just Busy?

Does it feel like you’re constantly moving from the time you get up to the time you go to bed? You might feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day to get through your to-do list. But completing random tasks doesn’t necessarily correlate to productivity, and constant busyness doesn’t always get you closer to your goals.

After Skool explains the difference between keeping busy and being productive in this short animated video:

Here are a few key points:

  • Productive people focus on priorities. Busy people have many goals.
  • Productive people set limits and can tell others no. Busy people say yes to most everything.
  • Productive people set deadlines for immediate action. Busy people lack clear windows of time in which to complete tasks.

With many competing priorities in your everyday life, it can be hard to focus and stay on track. Productivity relies on starting with what’s most important and setting strict deadlines for achieving your goals. By focusing on the most important tasks to do in a day and setting limits, you can stop being busy and start being productive.
